Turn total area into a sheet layout

A 4 × 8 sheet has 32 square feet of face area, but sheet count still depends on orientation, wall height, ceiling direction, staggered joints, openings, and whether multiple layers or board types are required. Keep fire-rated, moisture-resistant, ceiling, and standard wall board as separate takeoffs so reusable cuts are not credited to the wrong material.

Sheet orientation, staggered joints, fire-rated layers, tall walls, openings, offcuts, and damage change the sheet count.
